How do I reserve you for a photo session?

• A deposit will hold the date. Give me a call and we can define what is appropriate.

• It depends on what kind of photography. For most sessions the deposit is 50%.  The remainder is due on or prior to the session or event.

• I accept most forms of payment; cash, check, Visa, MC, various other electronic forms.

• Yes, in most cases you can get a full refund.  Only when specialized equipment is needed is there an exception. This does not apply to most situations.

• Yes, travel charges are negotiable.

• I prefer to meet in person before our photo session. But we can work out a virtual meeting if meeting in person is unrealistic. In person meetings are much more informative.

• Currently I photograph digitally. I learned photography with film.

• It depends on the event. Some need multiple points of view, some not.  I often have an assistant to help.

• I will provide files appropriate for sharing on social media for the final images.  Most people can’t read the RAW images.  The files I provide are the standard JPG format.

• Those are two terms for the same thing, often used interchangeably.

• No, I will take a lot more than are used. Maybe the flash didn’t fire. Maybe it didn’t come out for a number of reasons.  I will cull those out in the beginning. But I understand sometimes there are photos that are not technically good, but are emotionally meaningful.

• I want to photograph you in some place that is emotionally meaningful for you. It does not matter where. It is my challenge to make it as best we can.  What matters is it is special to you. I will help suggest special locations.

• Please let me know as soon as possible. I will do what I can to accommodate.

• That is my challenge, to make the best of it. There are lots of techniques to make the best of it. How will depend on the details. Weather is a factor I track.  Sometimes the best sessions have a chance of rain. As the day approaches we can define the need for a backup. Maybe it is reschedule, or maybe indoor.

• I do my best to get the photos ready as soon as possible. Typically it is a few days.

• I have found the best is in person. Monitors and phones might be out of calibration. Maybe the brightness is turned up or down from what it should be. I calibrate all of my equipment to make sure I accurately represent the photographs. I have found showing the photos in person helps me read your reaction to the photos.  I can suggest how to make the best of it, for a specific situation. Should the photo be gloss, Matt, metallic…

• After the initial showing I will make them available online, for sharing on social media.

• It will depend on the situation. As long as I know ahead of time I can plan for this. It is common to show a slideshow at the reception of the wedding that just happened.

• From the time the image captured it is saved to 2 different cards. The first thing I do is copy it to a 3^rd drive and a 4^th as a backup.

• I keep all the images. Depending on how long it has been since our session, it will define how long it takes to recover.

• My part of the process takes a week or two. The part that holds things up is your choice of images that I have little to do with.  I do everything I can to help with your choice. The delivery depends on what is ordered, from a few days for a print to a month for a handmade album. I will let you know for what you choose.

• Multiple prints of the same thing are typically discounted. How much discount, depends on specifically what you are wanting.
